Chrome Web Store link coming soon.
Smart Sub is a Chrome extension that helps you track subscriptions, see spend insights, and get renewal reminders. Data defaults to your device; optional cloud sync keeps backups in sync when you sign in with Google.
Features
- Subscriptions list with trials, pause, deactivate, and service icons
- Insights tab with monthly spend projections and category breakdown
- Alerts for upcoming renewals with configurable reminder windows
- Settings for theme, currency, notifications, export/import, and data deletion
- Optional Google sign-in for Firestore backup/sync and email-related options
Overview
Smart Sub keeps renewals and spend visible without sending your finances to a separate app store account by default. Add subscriptions, tune reminders, and export a backup when you want a portable copy.
Built for clarity
- See monthly-equivalent spend and category splits in Insights.
- Get renewal alerts via optional system notifications (and email when cloud mode supports it).
- Pause or deactivate subscriptions with dates that roll forward sensibly for alerts.
Privacy
Local-only mode avoids cloud traffic for your subscription data. If you use sync, data is tied to your account per our Privacy and Terms.

Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about Smart Sub.
What is Smart Sub?
Smart Sub is a browser extension that tracks your subscriptions in one place — prices, renewal dates, trials, and notes — with optional analytics and renewal alerts.
Is my data local?
Yes by default. Subscription data is stored in your browser’s extension storage. If you choose cloud sync, data for your account is stored under your user in our cloud database with access limited to you. See the Privacy and Terms link on this page for details.
Do I need an account?
No. You can use Smart Sub entirely in local mode. Sign-in is optional if you want backup and sync across devices.
Does Smart Sub read every website I visit?
The current release does not ship automatic page detection for subscriptions; tracking is manual and data you enter in the extension.
